Takabonerate Island, Where Is It?

Sulawesi Travel Blog - Indonesia is famous with underwater scenery. Let's mention some of your favorite places when enjoying the underwater life, anywhere? Komodo? Raja Ampat? Or Wakatobi? This answer is too mainstream, have you ever heard of the Takabonerate National Park? May be unfamiliar sound or only a small percentage of people know.

Takabonerate National Park is located in South Sulawesi and bordering also with the Flores Sea. Takabonerate National Park is the third largest atoll in the world after Kwajifen in the Marshall Islands and Suvadiva in the Maldives. The atoll is a coral island that is usually shaped ring and in the middle shaped basin that has been filled by sea water, and is guaranteed to be surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. No wonder if the region is used as one of the National Parks in Indonesia because it has biota biodiversity and coral reefs are very high and varied.

For those of you who like a challenge and underwater life lovers, you have to visit to Takabonerate. Because Takabonerate has 21 islands that waits for us to explore. Of the 21 islands, only seven of the island who has the status of "uninhabited" and 14 others are beautiful islands that are uninhabited. To explore these islands could be using a wooden ship, the sensation of ocean waves and ocean expanse coloring journey through the cluster of islands. The journey to get to one of the underwater paradise is practically easy bother. The trouble may be a long distance and easy it is already a lot of means of transportation to this area.

Well, how to route a trip to get to Takabonerate? From Makassar Airport we continue overland trip by car that has been leased to the direction of the Port Bulukumba - Tanjung Bira for 6 hours and then by boat Ferry to Selayar for 2 hours. The departure schedules of the ferry this day there are only 2 schedules are morning and afternoon. When the ship arrived at the Port Bulukumba not the way, gave time to take photos here as it has very nice scenery.

Arrived in Port Pamatata - Selayar we continue the journey by car to downtown Fort is about 1.5 hours. During the trip will be satisfied very tough beaches in Selayar, Citadel we went straight to our accommodation which Pondok Japan. We decided to overnight in Selayar so that we can enjoy the beautiful Selayar. You can enjoy the underwater scenery Selayar with snorkeling. Snorkeling spot not far from the beach Liang train, so when the water is getting tired playing we could sit back enjoy the sunset on the Liang beach.
