Lore Lindu National Park Accommodation

With an area of approximately 231,000 hectares, here dwells rare flora and fauna endemic to Sulawesi, which cannot meet in the other parts of the world. Simultaneously, it will encounter mountainous areas, lakes, swamps and forest blend together in a complete and intact. There is also a lake at the foot of Mount Nokilalaki Lindu with an altitude of 2355 m above sea level. The lake is a source of livelihood of local fishermen who find freshwater fish.

For the benefit of visitors, the national park is equipped offices, guard shack, guardhouse, gates, information center, camping ground, guest house, viewing towers, shelters, road trail, and others.

This region has various types of forest ecosystems different. Some of them are tropical forest ecosystems with high rainfall, lower mountain forest ecosystems, mountain forest ecosystems, and ecosystems with different species composition. Lore Lindu National Park has a rainfall between 2000-3000 mm per year in the north and 3,000-4,000 mm per year in the South. In Lore Lindu, you will see interesting scenery as it is situated at the Wallace line. Walacce line is the region of the transition zone between Asia and Australia.

In addition to exploring the wild in Lore Lindu National Park, you can also watch or do research the diversity of flora and fauna here.

National Park Lore Lindu can be an appropriate location to cross the forest, observing animals, jungle tracking, photo hunting, hiking, camping, fishing, waterfalls. Why do not you visit the megalithic heritage in Besoa Valley, Valley Saluki, Bada Valley and the Valley Napu. The Lore Lindu National Park contains over 400 granite megaliths in the Bada Valley, varying in size from just a few centimeters to 4.5 meters tall, the largest found in Indonesia. Various archaeological studies have dated the monuments from between 3000 BC to 1300 AD.

Visit Pakuli village is also within 40 km to the south and the city of Palu. Here you can watch the Maleo, bird-footed, Cabak Sulawesi, Sulawesi Kapasan, orioles, purple, and white upside-down. Pakuli village is a buffer area of Lore Lindu National Park that is home of approximately 287 and 415 types of traditional medicinal plant materials. There is available cottage traditional medicine, medicinal garden, suspension bridge, breeding Maleo, and shelter.

How Get There?
The nearest air transport hubs are Makassar in South Sulawesi and Manado in North Sulawesi, both of which have domestic flights to the towns of Palu, Poso and Luwuk in Central Sulawesi, from Jakarta and all the major cities around Indonesia, and a few International flights.

Transportation
Lore Lindu National Park can be reached by four wheel drive through the Palu-Kamarora (50 km) and takes about 2.5 hours, Palu-Wuasa (100 km) and a five-hours-Besoa Wuasa (50 km) of four hours. Palu- Kulawi is (80 km) to six hours.

Trips in the national park can be done on foot or on horseback through the route Gimpu-Besoa-Bada for three days and the Saluki (Sidaonta) -Lindu Lake for one day.

Accommodation
One of the closest accommodations to the Lore Lindu National Park is in the village of Wuasa. Here there are two lodgings in the inn Sendy and Monalisa, both the lodging cost between USD 10 till USD 20.

Facilities
There are shelter, a trail to the megaliths, lodging and restaurants around it and also guide local. ( to visit this location, suggested to use guide local).

If you want to be traveled to Lore Lindu, should do it between July and September every year. In August there is attraction culture out a national park, namely  Lake Poso festival (Danau Poso festival).
